Η Τες  έστειλε το δικό της μήνυμα ενάντια στο body shaming, φορώντας ένα λευκό φόρεμα όπου έγραφε τη φράση «sample size».

Το sample size είναι ουσιαστικά ο όρος που χρησιμοποιείται στην βιομηχανία της μόδας ως αναφορά στις στάνταρ αναλογίες των skinny μοντέλων.

Καθώς έφτανε στο τέρμα της πασαρέλας, η 34χρονη Τες πίεσε με αυτοπεποίθηση το στήθος της, κουνώντας ταυτόχρονα το σώμα της, κίνηση που χειροκρότησε με ενθουσιασμό το κοινό.

Last night was hands down, one of the most memorable and emotional moments of my entire career…. hell, my life! Everyone you see in this photo at some point hyped me up, held my hand, let me cry with them & we all shared so much laughter and pure joy. I wish I could have bottled up the love in this room so that y’all all could feel what I was so lucky to experience! ? This is what diversity looks like, this is the future. We have always been here, but no one paid attention or cared because most of us pictured are outside of status quo of what’s considered traditionally “beautiful”. We deserve to take up space, and trust me, we will. To know that I’ve spent my entire career advocating for more diversity in the fashion industry, and to be able to share the runway with so many others with the same mission was a feeling I will never forget. Η Τες έκανε και δεύτερη ανάρτηση αναφέροντας πως το συγκεκριμένο σόου ήταν «μια από τις πιο αξιομνημόνευτες και συγκινητικές στιγμές της ζωής μου». «Όλοι όσοι βλέπετε σε αυτήν την φωτογραφία σε κάποια φάση με ενθάρρυναν, μου κράτησαν το χέρι, με άφησαν να κλάψω μαζί τους και επίσης μοιραστήκαμε πολύ γέλιο και αληθινή χαρά», έγραψε στο μήνυμά της και συνέχισε: «Έτσι μοιάζει η διαφορετικότητα, αυτό είναι το μέλλον. Από πάντα ήμασταν εδώ, αλλά κανείς δεν μας έδινε σημασία ούτε νοιαζόταν επειδή οι περισσότεροι από εμάς στην φωτογραφία είναι εκτός status quo εκείνου για αυτό που θεωρείται παραδοσιακά «όμορφο». Μας αξίζει να βρούμε χώρο και, πιστέψτε με, θα το κάνουμε».

Just some Monday thoughts & things I’ve been thinking about that I wanted to share: ? Being authentic is always better than trying to be someone you’re not. ?No one loves themselves 24/7, it’s okay to have highs & lows, that’s normal. ? The more successful you become, the more critics and that’s ok. Change will always be met with resistance. ?Nothing is ever what it seems on social media, you only see the bits that folks choose to share. ? Don’t compare yourself, you’re on a different path that’s just yours. Embrace that. ?If you’re feeling sad, reach out to someone and see if you can be of service to them. It will help you both more than you realize. ? It’s okay to ask for help, and it’s okay to receive help. ? Taco Bell is the *only* fast food. Fight me.
